The diagnosis is based on blood, urine, and additional investigations
   whereby the physician is looking for three factors:

One or more of the following biological abnormalities:

  • abnormalities of the immune system (± 400 tests!)

  • autoimmunity

  • endocrinological abnormalities

  • metabolic disorders of the fatty acid metabolism

  • metabolic disorders in the amino acid or purine metabolism

  • increase in oxidative stress

  • abnormalities in neurotransmitters (messenger substances of the nerve system, for instance serotonin)


 

Triggering factors:

  • viral infections

  • bacterial infections

  • type IV allergies to foods and heavy metals

  • nutritional deficiencies

  • psychological stressors

  • other organic disorders



Determining genetic susceptibility in:

  • the serotonin system

  • oxidative stress

  • the immune system
